Diana Nadeau lives in Eugene, OR, and has been writing children's books since 2007. Her first, Lighting the Earth, (Aurora Books 2014)  won the 2015 Skipping Stones Honor Award and the 2015 Family Choice Award.

Her second, Pola's Flower, (Aurora Books 2017) won the 2016 Akosha Grant from Khyentse Foundation for its efforts in preserving Tibetan heritage, the 2018 Family Choice Award, the 2018 Purple Dragonfly Honorable Mention Award, and an Award-Winning Finalist in the  the 2019 International Book Awards.

Diana's motivation for writing is to bring gentle, light, and oftentimes fun attention to life's challenges, with high hopes of guiding children through the more difficult aspects of life. Her books have been acclaimed as uplifting, enlightening, beautiful, universal, and heartfelt.

Diana has always loved the use of words, primarily through the hearing, telling, reading, and writing of stories. She has early memories of sitting on her Nana's lap reading book after book after book and of listening to her father tell enchanting bedtime tales of magic and wonder.

"There is a great need for picture books that speak straight to the heart, bringing children a deep sense of companionship, upliftment and confidence," says Diana. She has recently completed two further picture book manuscripts, and is currently finalizing a fictional novel for 'tweens.

Diana has been teaching Tibetan Meditation for over six years to children and adults, in classroom and private settings. Diana is also a Certified Mediator in Eugene, bringing her sense of compassion, creative problem solving, and professional expertise to conflict resolution for families, couples, teens, elders, and the workplace.
