K.K. Wallace

K.K. Wallace is the author of A Hummingbird's Tale: Henry's Great Race

Starting a very young age, Mr. Wallace has always been an avid reader of literature. He enjoyed reading the classic novels written by Steinbeck, Hemingway, Shakespeare, and so many others. He was constantly learning new words, finding out what they meant, and how to use them in sentences. To this day, Mr. Wallace finds himself engaged in many stories from S. King, J. Patterson, also including  J.K. Rowling. The information and imagination of writers and authors from all over the world, he finds incredibly amazing.

Mr. Wallace knew that there would be a time in his life that he would like to have the chance to join those millions of writers, by writing his own story. But, he had a small problem. He didn’t know what to write about! Until, one chilly February morning.

“Sitting on my back porch with my morning coffee, I was gazing at the newly fallen snow from the night before. The snow covered ground was absolutely beautiful. Just then, out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of two hummingbirds flittering around the back yard, hovering here and there, apparently looking for food. With a blink of an eye, they were gone. For them to disappear like that was nothing short of amazing. A light bulb inside my brain clicked on immediately. That’s when Henry and Paige were introduced to me, to give me the idea to write this story.
I will hold them dearly to my heart for eternity. It’s amazing how the smallest of things, or events  that happen through the course of a person’s life, can actually make the biggest of change in their life.”
